What strategies does SIM PD focus on?
SIM PD consists of three modules:

Teachers learn to use different types of questions to elicit and gain insight into student understanding (pose purposeful questions)

Teachers learn to sequence questions to advance student understanding of math (pose purposeful questions)
3
Teachers learn to encourage students to share, respond to, and make connections among different approaches (facilitate meaningful mathematical discourse)
What are the components of SIM PD?
Each of the modules has three activities (workshops, practice sessions, debriefs), which are led by a local coach who is trained and supported by AIR.
